Total
Economic Impact:
"In a market that
demands preparedness for change, IT management finds itself increasingly
situated between two diametrically opposed sets of demands—on the one hand a
requirement to respond to the increasing opportunities emerging in the
marketplace, such as developing Internet commerce via a corporate web site, and
on the opposite hand, a need to control costs, demonstrate value, and be
responsive to end-user application demands. With the emergence of many IT cost
models, such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), organizations have begun to focus
attention on costs, but not always understanding the total exposure that a
cost-based decision incurs." From the Giga TEI study - see the complete
document here
The point of the
Giga report is that IT investment is not a sunk cost - it is an investment
in productivity. The Woodmoulding MIS is focused on installing and
utilizing technology that will increase the productivity of the plant by
increasing the volume, quality and timeliness of information.
Best
Technology Users:
Forbes magazine evaluated the best and worst technology users by industry
group. Fascinating information - read the profiles here .
"How
do you make sure you end up on the winning side? Often, the companies that
succeed with these applications do so by throwing out the rule book and
applying the same levels of creativity, resourcefulness, and adaptability
that lead them to success in other arenas. In other words, computerization
is one way the dynamic get more dynamic." Read the whole article
here .
Financing:
Woodmoulding.Com has the capacity to provide operating type leases to its
users for equipment purchased and installed for the Woodmoulding
MIS. This approach allows the user to bundle equipment and
installation services from a variety of suppliers with a negative balance
sheet effect.
Development
& Maintenance:
The cost development and maintenance of the Woodmoulding MIS is
calculated and agreed upon on a case by case basis with user companies.
